A Mark is a special marking or symbol that appears on a wild Pokémon after it has been captured that shows a bit about their personality, physical state, the way they are captured, when they are captured and a number of other factors that are quite numerous. These marks do not have a true function in or outside of battle, but capture devices are able to display these marks when a Pokémon is released in order to show off their rare and unique status. These makes cannot be earned in any way and instead are a part of the Pokémon they are found on for life, and are noted for their rarity, especially since they cannot be found on Pokémon hatched from Eggs or found in Raid Dens.
